  1. To begin, type the word or phrase you want to look up into the search bar.
  2. If you only want to see posts that contain an exact phase, use quotation marks.
  3. As you type in the search bar, suggested posts appear below the search bar. You can click on these posts to visit them.
  4. On the right side of the search bar, you can change the scope of your community search. We will limit our search within the current category.
  5. Press Enter or the magnifying glass.
  6. Filter the results by selecting any of the filters at the top of the results.
  7. To apply even more filters click “Advanced”.
  8. You can sort the content as well using the “Sort by:” feature.

We hope this video helped you understand the different ways you can search within the community.

Different discussion styles

Khoros communities have different discussion styles, some of which you’ll find being used in our very own community. In this video, we’ll explain just 4 different styles and show you examples of them being used in the Khoros Community.

  • Forums are the most common discussion style. Forums are where you can have peer-to-peer conversations about the topic of the board.
  • Blogs are where you can read and publish news and insights.
  • In Ideas, you can post and read about ideas for product changes and enhancements.
  • Tribal Knowledge Base, or TKBs, are ways to turn conversations into approved knowledge assets. This discussion style is a great way to make sure valuable content is visible to more of the community.
  • Events are a collection of community-hosted activities (seminars, meet-ups, conferences). You can notify community members of online or in-person events by publishing them in the Events calendar.

Discussion styles are one of the ways the Khoros community showcases content in a more efficient way. We hope this overview helped you better understand the different styles and why and when they are used.

@JamilaR : Should we list Events as well here? Events is our newest discussion style.

Thanks @AshaC! We'll work on getting that updated.
