Scottish Community Manager meet - Digital Transformation & Mapping Twitter in Schools - December 1st

For our next meet-up in bonnie (freezing) Scotland I'm excited to announce we've got a couple of great speakers lined up, as well as the usual opportunity to share what you're working on and get expert feedback with some leaders in the industry.

Thanks to @allensmith81 we'll be hosted by Microsoft which is a short swagger (or stagger) from Waverley Station.

Lithium's very own @MikeW will kick things off, leading us through the complex journey of Digital Transformation and shining a light on how to make your strategy have a lasting impact.

After that we'll hear about William Jenkins' own personal transformation from Sales to Community Management, and how he has been working with Scottish Schools to encourage participation and co-creation using Twitter and Skype.

Re: Scottish Community Manager meet - Digital Transformation & Mapping Twitter in Schools - Dece

We had another great Scottish Community Manager meet-up - although we agreed potentially we need to change the title of the session to draw on those who might not know what Community Management is. As if those type of people exist... ha! As ever, although it was titled Community Manager, our discussions and presentations took us across all walks of life! @MikeW was first, leading us by the hand across the treacherous landscape of digital transformation. Our cognitive functions and synapses were firing and spinning as he transfixed us with his 4 cogs all turning equally and perfectly. His story is a compelling one, and based on so much sound reasoning and data. William Jenkins (https://twitter.com/EdTech_Stories) was taking copious notes during @MikeW 's presentation. He then got up to introduce Marialice who had dialled in from Connecticut (https://twitter.com/mbfxc). Both have been supremely active locally but connecting globally through Skype and Twitter, bringing schools and teachers into the collaborative digital spaces that are everywhere. William went on to talk about his own personal journey from direct Sales into Community Management. His work brought him into contact with David Goutcher (https://twitter.com/goutcherd) who is on the cusp of taking his start-up into the limelight via the likes of Disney in California. This local ex-police entrepreneur is making books with tie-in Apps and games and even full AI immersion for any space you want to use (your house or school maybe). With a mission to raise attainment levels and get kids reading, the big boys see the commercial potential and he is already developing games to tie in with Harry Potter... I'm going to be asking my kids' school if they'll be doing SpyQuest soon https://twitter.com/SpyQuest There will be further meet-ups in the New Year...
