Search bar - update search location name

By default, Search bar comes with a drop down menu of Community, Knowledge Base, Board, Category, User etc...  Is it possible to modify it to say All Community OR This Board etc?  If so, where do I update?  Thanks!

@yyun : Yes,it is possible via Studio in the Text Key.

Studio > Text Editor > Advanced > Show text keys.

Hi @yyun,

Yes, you can change that names by updating in Studio --> Text Editor --> Community Text --> Text Properties. As lithium will provide some predefined text keys you need to find the exact naming convention of that text key and can change it.

You can know the text keys by going to Studio --> Text Editor --> Advanced --> Show text keys and

then refresh the required page where you can see the lithium predefined text keys(After that you can hide the text keys to return to normal behavior). Now take the required text key value and replace it with your required name in the Text Properties

For example( for your requirement )

1. search.community_title = All Community

2. searchUser.title = Get users

3. searchTkb.title = Community TKB

etc..

Hope I have provided you the required info 🙂

Thanks for the information!  I was able to find the key and searched under Community Text - but could not find the same key with in Text Properties box.  Search results indication it exists - I confirmed but just not in Text Properties to update.  Would you know why it's not there? or could it be stored elsewhere?

Hi @yyun,

You should provide both the text keys and value in the Text properties. As previously, we are going with default values you are unable to find the key value in the text editor. To update the new values you have to give both the key and the value in the text properties.

Like : Required Text key = Required Value (providing examples)

 search.community_title = All Community

 searchUser.title = Get users

 searchTkb.title = Community TKB

Hope I cleared your confusion 🙂
