What happened to OOTB Dropdown?

So, I know there have been changes to the OOTB themes in recent years, but historically, the navigation menu in the header was a drop down, no? 

Can someone point me in the direction of how to get it back?

I'm not sure if I understand which navigation menu you mean. Could you paste a screenshot?

There are at least two variations of OOTB components for community dropdown navigation available in Studio's "Navigation" component group:

With the OOTB themes they are mostly used for the tablet and below screen sizes though, but nothing speaks agains also employing them on larger screen sizes.

Thanks guys - sorry I wasn't clearer. I mean the top level menu - I swear it used to come configured with a drop down like on the Dataiku Community, but with the new Hermes template, it seems it doesn't? 

Maybe I'm crazy and it was always a customization, but I swore it was default lol. 

Looking to do this basically - right now, we have to click into the category to see the contents.
