lithium_hp_mobile_thread_lm053_grey_02.pngThe momentum continues.... We launched our new Lithium Mobile community product at the Social CRM Virtual Summit in November and since then the product team has been active demoing this to very interested customers, partners, analysts and now media.


This morning, the Wall Street Journal featured Lithium's mobile product in a feature called 'Squeezing Web Sites Onto Cellphones: Businesses Try to Shift Online Communities, Consumer Forums to Places Tailored for Wireless Users' by Roger Cheng.  Read full article on WSJ Online


The article featured two Lithium customers, Lois Townsend (Director of Community at HP) and Mike Hardy (Community Manager at Pitney Bowes) as well as our own Phil Soffer, VP of Product Marketing, talking about the reasons and benefits of running a mobile optimized community.


Simply put, most companies haven't had a compelling reason, or compelling content to run a mobile presence - communities give companies that reason.   "A lot of these companies don't have a mobile site, and right away, they'll have a lot of content," said Philip Soffer, Lithium's vice president of product marketing. "Because the community is active and based on addictive behavior, it's the kind of thing that works well on mobile phones."
