at this moment I'm evaluating the option to use lithium's ideas module to set up an internal idea exchange place. The question that I got asked by the colleagues from the ideas department is how to set up the subsequent processes after an idea has been discussed and needs to be checked by the responsible department.
It would be great if you could share any best practice on this topic or maybe explain the way how the idea exchange is set up in your company.
We recently updated our processes and evaluation criteria for our product ideas exchange and we have set up pre-defined labels, each assigned to product owners. We ask them to subscribe to their labels to be notified when new ideas are submitted in their area of ownership. It also provides them an easy way, coupled with statuses, to drill down to the ideas they are managing when they periodically review the backlog to provide updates.
Our moderator also assists in keeping an eye out for any duplicate ideas, or ideas that do not meet our evaluation criteria, as well as escalating ideas that require an update based on comments.
Hope this helps!
Hi @JulieH , thanks for the links. There was some interesting and helpful stuff in it. Especially the workflow part. I'm wondering if you agreed to some kind of service level agreement (e.g. an idea must be checked by the product owner in a given time frame and commented upon) and how you (or the moderators) keep track on the idea workflow. I personaly like the way CVous set up their idea page.
