Lot of great points from @CarolineS and @JasonHill in this thread. Here's my personal experience with User Reports vs. Member metrics in LSI.
User Reports are most helpful in determining where all users stand in the community or filtering by specific role. You get metrics from each member at the community level (overall) and I like to analyze where members will fall in the rank structure or determining activity levels for superusers. Great for reviewing metrics overall.
The Members tab in LSI has a good amount of the same metrics you can get in User Reports, but unlike User Reports, you can drill down to see which categories and nodes the members are participating in. You can filter activity by role as well. The drawback is that you can't get a full list of all users in the community, even through exporting to CSV.
There are benefits to both so I hope you consider using both in different ways. 🙂
