How would you choose to engage with a brand for help? Some of us may look up and call the 1-800 support number, but most others would pull out their smartphones and find a way to message the brand directly.
Welcome to the world of conversational commerce. Consumers want all interactions with a brand – from shopping to getting their questions answered – to happen with ease from anywhere. In addition, brands that experiment with new channels will ultimately see happier customers. According to Sapio Research, 63% of consumers who have used direct messaging to contact a brand report they were very satisfied/satisfied with their experience.
Lithium has been working with Apple during their beta process, and today we are excited to announce our support for Apple Business Chat. Lithium’s integration with Apple Business Chat includes the ability to:
Monitor incoming conversations
Filter, prioritize, tag, and route those conversations for response by an agent
Respond to conversations
Analyze sentiment, agent performance, channel performance, etc.
“Great customer service today is really about creating great customer engagement,” said Lithium CEO Pete Hess. “Today’s consumers expect a convenient way to interact with brands without waiting on hold or expiring chat sessions. The ease of messaging a brand directly and personally, through Apple Business Chat, is a crucial way brands build loyalty and trust. Being there for customers whenever and wherever they want to connect with you is an absolute necessity for businesses who wish to survive.
We’re excited to add Apple Business Chat as another channel for brands to provide exceptional digital customer care. Please contact your Lithium Account Representative representative for more information on integrating with Apple Business Chat.

This morning, we announced the 2018 Stars slate and it was another amazing year of contribution, engagement, and talent from our awesome contributors. We are extremely grateful for our superusers and advocates who make our community thrive and continue to push the envelope on what amazing digital customer care and engagement should look like.
These Stars are the heart and soul of Lithium. They are thought leaders and pioneers who routinely go above and beyond to help their peers in our community, sharing best practices and ideating with colleagues, telling their stories in our case studies, and Lithy Awards.
It was an honor to announce the new 2018 class of Lithium Stars in our live broadcast this morning. We loved having the chance to personally recognize and thank each and every one of them. If you missed the live webcast, you can view it here:

What’s the secret to a vivacious, supportive community? Engaged, responsive users. Superuser programs like Spotify’s Rock Star Program an Sephora’s Beauty Talk Super User Program are prime examples of how a community can not only foster support, but also create opportunities to purchase more products and organically establish brand advocates.
At Lithium, we want to recognize the superusers that have gone above and beyond to help out their peers, and are the integral pillars that helped cultivate powerful communities. Our Lithium Stars Program launched in 2010, and serves as a way for us to celebrate and shine a light on superusers who have become advocates and thought leaders in their own communities, and in the realm of social customer service. These role models exemplify the positive behaviors that influence the industry on what is considered “best-in-class” in digital customer engagement.
Be sure to tune in for the live broadcast where we’re announcing the 2018 Lithium Stars on Wednesday, May 30 th at 9am PT.
Get ready to congratulate this year’s All-Stars, Rockstars, and Heroes live! And learn how your peers are earning their superuser titles so you can gain inspiration to be a 2019 Lithium Star!
