We are very excited to announce - as you may already know- that Geoffrey Moore will be joining us for the next episode in our Let’s Be Frank series on Tuesday, February 11 th @ 1:30 PM.
Geoffrey Moore earned his BA in American Literature from Stanford as well as a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Washington. He is a an author, speaker, and advisor who splits his consulting time between start-up companies in the Mohr Davidow portfolio and established high-tech enterprises.
Moore’s life work has focused on the market dynamics surrounding disruptive technologies. He is widely known for his best-selling book Crossing the Chasm. His idea of the “chasm” is a revolutionary concept defined as, “the separation of the early market and early adopter visionaries from the early pragmatists when confronted with discontinuous innovations.” Crossing the Chasm has sold over a million copies around the world.
This discussion will provide commentary for anyone looking to understand the strategies and subtleties of high-tech marketing.

Holiday Haiku Contest Rules

We all know the holidays are about community and being social so what better way to celebrate than with Holiday Haikus? Write about the holidays, your community, social or a day in the life and post it to our Facebook page.
A Haiku is a short, three-lined poem using syllables as the form. The first and last lines should consist of five syllables and the middle should consist of 7. Rhyming is not a requirement.
The following are the official rules for the Lithium Technologies contest that will take place online (Facebook page, Lithium Community, Twitter promotion) from December 13th, 2013 10 am PST through December 20th, 2013 by 3pm PST:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
Contest open to legal residents of the United States and surrounding territories only. Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. All contestants must be 18 years of age or older. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Official Rules, which shall be final in all respects. The following are not eligible: employees, contractors, directors and officers of Lithium Technologies, Inc or their immediate family members.
Contest begins December 13th, 2013 10 am PST through December 20th, 2013 by 3pm PST, (collectively, the “Promotion Period”).
HOW TO ENTER
During the Promotion Period, enter the contest on Facebook (http://facebook.com/lithiumtechnologies). The first place prize will be Lithium speakers and the two runner ups will receive some sweet Lithium t-shirts.
1.:Like” the Lithium Page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/lithiumtechnologies). Without a like, your name will not be entered in the draw but we will still admire your creativity!
2. Enter the contest by submitting a Haiku themed, “Holiday, Social or Community.” Entry can be in the form of text, photo graphic with original haiku or video with original haiku.
3. Entry must be the original work of the Entrant, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person and must not violate any law.
4. By participating (including liking our page), you will automatically get entered into our draw to win the best Holiday Haiku.
5. The prizes are as stated, are not redeemable in cash, and must be accepted as awarded.
6. By participating in the contest and/or claiming the prize, both contestants and the winner authorize the use, without additional compensation of his or her name and/or likeness.
7. In accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges that contest representatives may not be held liable for any loss, damages or injury associated with accepting or using this prize(s).
8. Substitutions of equivalent kind or approximate value may be made in the event of the unavailability of any prize or component of the prize for any reason whatsoever.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Upon conclusion of the contest, three winners will be drawn randomly from the participants. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any of the participants. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible participants in the contest. Limit one (1) prize allowed per person. If a winner cannot prove his/her age or eligibility, such potential winner forfeits all rights to win the Promotion or receive the prize, and the next entrant to successfully complete the steps may be selected. The winner will be announced Monday, December 23th, 2013 at 9am Pacific.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: Prizes are non-transferable. No cash redemption or substitution will be allowed. If any prize is unavailable, a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted. Winning constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use Winner’s name, images, hometown, likeness, prize won, and photograph (all at Sponsor’s discretion) for future advertising, publicity in any and all media now or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission. Contest Parties and their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, and employees (collectively, “Released Parties”) are not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, stolen, altered, garbled, incorrect, incomplete or delayed Entries; all of which will be void. Released Parties are also not responsible for problems related to technical malfunctions of electronic equipment, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer hardware or software failures, phone lines, failure of any Entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, traffic, congestion on the internet or the website, or for any other technical problems including telecommunication, miscommunication or failure, and failed, lost, delayed, incomplete, garbled, or misdirected communications which may limit a Entrant’s ability to participate in this Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for any other errors or malfunctions of any kind, whether network, printing, typographical, human or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or malfunctions with may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of Entries, the announcement of the prize or in any Contest-related materials. Mass entries generated by a script, macro or use of automated devices will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Contest in the event it becomes infected by a computer virus or is otherwise technically impaired, and to cancel or suspend the Contest in its entirety should tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or other causes corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper play of the Contest and, if terminated, at Sponsor’s discretion, determine the Winner using all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to time of cancellation using the judging procedure outlined above. In the event of a dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same email account, the authorized subscriber of the email account at the time of Entry will be deemed to be the Entrant and must comply with these Official Rules. Authorized subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the email address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual (and void his/her Entries)) it finds to be tampering with the Entry process or the operation of this Contest or website, intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other Entrant, Sponsor, or any of its representatives or to otherwise be acting in violation of these Official Rules. CAUTION: Any attempt by a Entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operations of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such Entrant to the fullest extent permitted by the law and to disqualify such Entrant from the Contest. All local, state and federal taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. With respect to any disputes regarding contest, the decision of Sponsor is final.
Entry of the Contest assumes the complete release of Facebook by each Entrant. This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook and any information provided by Entrant is to Sponsor and not to Facebook.
ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS & RELEASES: Entrant hereby acknowledges that Entry and all other materials of every kind whatsoever created by Entrant relating to the Contest (collectively, the “Work”) are a “work made for hire” (as that term is used in the United States Copyright Act) for Sponsor, and assigns to Sponsor (or, if any applicable law prohibits or restricts such assignment, Entrant hereby grants to Sponsor an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable license of) limited right, title and interest in and to such Work, including, without limitation, all rights of every kind and nature (whether now known or hereafter devised, including all copyrights therein and thereto and all renewals and extensions thereof), throughout the universe, in perpetuity, for all purposes, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised. By submitting an Entry, Entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor may obtain many submissions under this Contest and that such entries may be similar or identical in theme, idea, format or other respects to others submitted under this Contest and/or other contests staged and/or sponsored by the Sponsor, and waive any and all claims Entrant may have had, may have, and/or may have in the future, that any composition, design, video and/or other works accepted, reviewed and/or used by the Sponsor (or its respective designees) may be similar to his/her Entry. Entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Sponsor does not have now, nor shall any of them have in the future, any duty or liability, direct or indirect, vicarious, contributory, or otherwise, with respect to the infringement or protection of any copyright in and to Entrant’s Entry.
