Khoros Communities 26.4 Release Notes
26.4 brings the Aurora homepage to life. Members can now react, reply inline, and save content directly from the feed without navigating away, while cross-board posting lets anyone start a discussion from any page in the community. Managers get a safe mode to evaluate Answer Assist quality before enabling it for members. Across Classic and Aurora, the release also delivers security patches, search fixes, and broad editor and stability improvements. New Features Aurora - Early Access Features The features in this section are available in Early Access for Aurora communities. They are behind feature flags and must be manually enabled — contact your Customer Success Manager to begin. Once enabled, all features are fully configurable from the admin panel. Note: Classic users can migrate to Aurora at no cost in 2026. Contact your CSM for detail Cross-Board Posting: Members can now start a post from the homepage or any category or landing page — no more navigating deep into the community structure to find the right board. Start a Discussion CTA — Admins enable a posting button on any page template via the Designer Tool. Button text is configurable (default: "Start a Discussion"). Permission-aware board picker — A searchable flat list showing only boards the user has permission to post on. Private group boards are hidden from non-members. All content types supported — discussions, blog articles, KB articles, ideas, and events. If clicked from within a specific board, that board is pre-selected in the picker. Anonymous users see the button but are redirected to sign-in on click Interactive Social Feed: Aurora's homepage Feed section transforms from a static list of post titles into a living, social feed where members can participate without breaking their browsing flow. Inline comment expansion — Click "See details" on any post to expand and read the latest comments directly in the feed. New/unread comments are surfaced first with clear visual highlighting. Inline replies — Reply to any discussion directly from the homepage feed using the same rich editor and community settings as the full thread view. Full post view — Expand the complete post body within the feed context; navigate to the full thread only when you need deeper engagement. Infinite scroll — The feed auto-loads additional posts as you scroll, with admin-configurable batch sizes and load limits. Admin controls: Enable or disable the interactive feed globally or per board from Admin → Settings → Content Features → Homepage Social Feed. Configure comment display count, infinite scroll batch size, and pilot specific boards before rolling out community-wide. One-click emergency disable option if issues arise Multi-Semantic Reactions: Move beyond a single "Like" and let members express nuanced sentiment. Automatic spam detection for images for Khoros Communities Aurora Starting this release, all images, along with the text content, will be scanned for automatic spam detection. Care Meta Threads is now available within Khoros Care Khoros is pleased to announce that Meta Threads is now supported as an integrated channel within Khoros Care. The integration allows brands to respond and engage with their followers on brand posts, allowing them to provide top-notch social care and advocacy at scale. Apple App Store integration Individual Keys for Khoros Care In Khoros Care v24.11.1, we introduced the ability to integrate your Care instance with the new Apple App Store integration. At the time, this required the use of the Key ID located under the Team Keys. As of this release, you can now use Individual API Keys for this integration, which is useful for brands that do not want to use Team Keys due to internal preferences. Activity Limit Settings for Khoros Communities Aurora In this release, we have introduced two settings for your community that can be configured via GraphQL, Flood limit setting and Role-based limit setting. Earlier, these were config-based; now, Khoros has provided them as settings for posts and private messages. With flood limit settings, you can maintain a community without spam content. For example, admins can enable members to post only 30 posts in 20 minutes. Duplicate post activity limit for Khoros Communities Aurora In Aurora communities v25.02, we released the Activity Limit feature to limit rapid actions on the community. With this release, we’ve expanded this functionality to prevent spamming the community with duplicate posts. Improved Moderation Experience for Khoros Communities Aurora We’ve redesigned the Community-level Moderation area to be more intuitive and efficient, consolidating all moderation controls into a single page for faster, and easier management. The improved layout enhances visibility into moderation actions, improving overall usability. Khoros Care Facebook Messenger PDF support for Khoros Care In Care, agents can now send PDFs in Facebook Messenger conversations. For more information about Facebook and Facebook Messenger capabilities, refer to Network Capabilities: Facebook. Communities integrations for Khoros Care For Care integrations with Khoros Communities (Classic or Aurora), the username of the account associated with the integration is now displayed alongside the URL of the community. Communities Content workflow notifications for Khoros Communities Aurora As a community member, you can now receive content workflow email notifications when someone completes the following actions in places you follow. To manage these notifications, refer to Manage Follow and Notification preferences for your account. For a list of all possible email notifications, refer to About Aurora Email Notifications. Search results page template for Khoros Communities Aurora Community designers can now customize their search results page using the Search Results Page template. This enables communities to promote the content, places, and people that are the most relevant to their community members’ needs. Updating the look and feel of this page template also encourages cohesion in branding across the community. Salesforce connector upgrade for Khoros Communities Aurora Many are upgrading to Salesforce Hyperforce, where Salesforce IPs change dynamically, which can lead to frequent integration failure. To mitigate this risk, we have upgraded the Salesforce connector to version 4.4. Third-party analytics for Khoros Communities Aurora Communities Analytics now supports adding third-party analytics providers by adding their IDs. To integrate these tools, administrators do not need to understand or use GraphQL or Handlebars. Autosuggest @mentions for Khoros Communities Aurora In this release, we've enhanced the @mention feature with autosuggestions. Now, you'll receive relevant suggestions for members, content, and places as you type, making content posting more convenient. When you enter the @ symbol while creating a post, the suggestions are displayed in order by Members, Content, and Places. Khoros Communities Aurora Spam Management Product Coaching Identify and prevent spam within your community, learn to moderate and remove spam content effectively, and protect your community from malicious actors. Care Updated “like” action for Khoros Care For social channels that support likes, the moderation actions for liking and removing likes have been renamed Like Post and Remove Like, respectively. The Like icon has also been updated. Additionally, when you like an individual post, this is indicated at the post level now instead of just as a tag on the overall conversation. When you hover your cursor over the Liked notation, you can see the name of the brand account that liked the post. Apple App Store & Legacy iOS App Store integration icons for Khoros Care We released the new Apple App Store integration that enables direct response from Care. How We Did It: Upgrading Atlas to the Aurora version of Khoros Communities Adopting our own next-generation community management software helped Khoros in many ways: easier community management, streamlined and re-envisioned purpose, and direct experience by our employees to learn the ins and outs of our latest software development—ultimately leading to improvements for our customers. Update: TikTok Access for Khoros customers TikTok has resumed availability for the majority of United States users after being temporarily shut down on the evening of January 18. Khoros is closely monitoring updates regarding TikTok’s future availability in the United States and is in direct contact with our partners at TikTok. Community Moderation Bypass feature for Khoros Communities Aurora We’re introducing three new bypass permissions to allow trusted members to post content without being: blocked by content filters, scanned for spam detection, or limited by flood controls. These permissions are available under Settings > Users > Roles and permissions > Moderation and are set to Deny by default. Setting these permissions helps you streamline moderation workflows and enable trusted users to engage more freely without unnecessary restrictions. Bypass Event Invitation Flood Control Limits for Khoros Communities We’ve introduced a new permission, Bypass Event Invitation Flood Control, that allows admins to send more invitations than the flood control limit set for the community. This permission is available under Settings > Users > Roles and permissions > Events. For Communities Classic, permission is available under Admin > Users > Permissions > Events. Exclude roles in Top Contributors widget for Khoros Communities Aurora Site designers can now exclude certain roles from being displayed in the Top Contributors widget. This is helpful when your administrators or other staff create a large amount of content but you want to highlight only your other members’ contributions to the community. Community offline mode for Khoros Communities Aurora If you are performing maintenance on your community, you may want to prevent activity from taking place as you resolve issues. With offline mode, you can present a notice to visitors so they know maintenance is underway and that they cannot participate until the community comes back online. Depending on your goals, building your guidelines or privacy policy within Aurora creates a seamless experience with consistent branding, while linking to an external URL enables you to use one central location for these documents so you don’t have to update them in multiple places. Care Live system tag for Khoros Care A new “Live” system tag is now applied to all Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube conversations with content categorized as live video by the channel. This tag remains on the post after the live video event ends so you can use the tag for reporting and tracking purposes. Block Facebook users from a page with Khoros Care As an agent, you can now block Facebook users from the page they are interacting with. Admins must first turn on this option for the channel by going to Settings > Integrations > Source Integrations and selecting Edit (pencil icon) for the appropriate Facebook integration. Below Moderator Actions, the admin must then select the Allow agents to block/unblock users from page option. Communities Replies and Comment sort order Admins now have the ability to customize the sort order for replies and comments at both the community and board levels, offering control over how content is organized and displayed to members across different content types. This setting is under Settings > Features > Content Features > Replies and Comments. Featured Guides With the Featured Guides widget, admins can showcase curated Guides, providing members with quick links to essential content. The guides listed on this widget allow community members to easily discover and access highlighted Guides on your community pages. They can be made available for use on designated community pages and help drive engagement by featuring important or popular Guides. Featured Guides is enabled by default, and you can add up to 100 guides to the Featured Guides. Aurora Content Filters Enhancement: Ignore diacritics When you create or edit a content filter, you can now specify whether you want the filter to ignore diacritics or to recognize characters with diacritics as unique characters. For example, when you turn on Ignore diacritics, “chëēse” and “cheese” are treated as the same word. If you do not turn on this option, “chëēse” is not recognized in a filter that prevents a user from posting the word “cheese.” Turning this option off is useful for communities with diverse languages, allowing more precise moderation of words with diacritic variations.
