These widgets can be filled with formatted text or HTML. Not only can you use this widget for the currently selected page template, but each Text/HTML widget is saved in a library so that you can assign it to any other page template you edit. Add a Text/HTML widget Select Add widget (plus icon) where you want to add the widget. In the Add Widget panel, select Text/HTML. Select Add Widget. Add your custom text using the content editor or add HTML source code by clicking More... (... icon) and then the Source code (< > icon) in the editor's toolbar. Enter a Widget name that will be used to identify the widget from the Widget Library (Optional) Enter a Widget description to add more information for the widget in the Widget Library. Select Save. Configure the Text/HTML widget as described in the section below. Configure the Text/HTML widget You can configure the following options: Widget Title: The title that appears at the top of the widget. Visible only to screen readers: When this option is active, the title will remain hidden from most visitors; however, the title information is still relayed to visitors using screen readers. Remove widget background: When this option is active, the background of the widget is hidden so that the section background shows through. Visible To: Use the drop-down menu to indicate whether the widget should be displayed to All Users, Signed-in users, or Non-signed-in users. Edit Widget Content: Select this to return to the content editor for the widget. You can configure each instance of the Board widget's layout, style, sort method, elements, and more. Layout You can choose between the List and Card layouts. The List layout provides a vertical list of boards in your group. This list can include several different features for each board that appears. The Card style separates items horizontally, giving a more visually bold breakdown of the group's available boards. The cards themselves are responsive, providing a different number of cards in each row depending on the width of the browser's viewport. Configuration List Style For the Layout option of List, the List Style selector enables you to change the overall style of the list and how its items appear in the widget. Space: Uses whitespace to create space between items. Divide: Adds a horizontal line to divide items. Border: Creates a border that separates items into individual boxes. Card Size The Card Size section enables you to select between Large and Medium card sizes. Larger cards have a prominent avatar, which takes up most of the card's space. The card also presents wider, allowing fewer to appear in a single horizontal row than the Medium cards. Card Text Alignment The Card Text Alignment option aligns all of the text, including the board's avatar, to align either left, center, or right within the card. Widget Title The Widget Title sets the title that appears at the top of the widget. If the Visible only to screen readers toggle is enabled, the title remains hidden to most visitors; however, the title information is still relayed to visitors using screen readers. Sort by You can choose to sort items in the widget by various criteria, including: Name Latest Activity Most Viewed Topics Count Post Count Community structure List item elements The List/Card item elements section enables you to show or hide elements depending on your needs. Description: The description of the board as configured in the board's settings. Lock Icon: A lock icon appears along with the list item if the board is closed, hidden, or read-only. Most recent activity timestamp: A listing of time since the last activity on the board. Post Count: A total number of posts on the board. Unread Post Count: A total number of posts the user has marked as unread on the board. Avatar: (Card only) The avatar associated with the board. The List layout has an additional Lead With drop-down menu. It enables you to choose to display the item author's Avatar, discussion style Icon, or None along with the item in the widget. Max lines of description text Use the slider to designate the maximum number of lines of the board's description to be displayed on the widget. Number of places Use the slider to designate the total number of places shown on the widget. More options Additional configuration options for the widget appear in the More options section. These options include: Hide if empty: Prevents any board that has no posts from appearing in the widget. Include "Show More" link: Creates a Show More link if there are more places than designated on the Number of places slider. Aurora: Groups widget configuration The Groups widget displays a list of groups a member belongs to. It is available on the Member Profile page template. Layout There layouts available in this widget are List and Card. The List style creates a text list of items, including their titles, descriptions, number of posts, and other information that can be configured in the List Item Elements section of the settings area. The Card layout displays a larger image for each Group with any of the elements you choose to include. The selected element appears on the left side of each item. Number of places and category children Use the Number of places slider to designate the total number of places shown on the widget. Use the Number of category children slider to designate the total number of category children to be displayed on the widget. Aurora: KB Information widget configuration The KB Information widget provides basic information about the knowledge base (KB) related to where it is displayed. It is available on the Knowledge Base Dashboard and Knowledge Base Article page templates. Widget Text Alignment The Widget Text Alignment area of the widget's settings menu enables you to set the alignment of content inside the widget to either the left, center or right side of the widget. Widget Elements The widget includes a series of elements that showcase different information about the KB. You can switch these individual elements on or off using the following toggles: Widget Title: The title that appears at the top of the widget. Avatar: The KB's designated image or default icon. Description: A short description of the KB as defined in the KB's settings. Post Count: The number of articles currently published in the KB. It is available in the Category Dashboard page template and features a variety of settings that enable you to customize the widget to fit your needs. Widget Text Alignment The Widget Text Alignment area of the widget's settings menu enables you to set the alignment of content inside the widget to either the left, center, or right side of the widget. Widget Elements The widget includes a series of elements that showcase different information about the category. You can switch these individual elements on or off using the following toggle controls: Widget Title: The title that appears at the top of the widget. Avatar: The category's designated image or default icon. Description: A short description of the category as defined in the category's settings. Latest Activity Date: A display of the time since the last activity on any posts within the category. Follow Action: A call-to-action button that enables visitors to follow the category directly. Follower Count: A total number of followers for the category. Max lines of description text Use the slider to set up to 20 lines of text for the category’s description. Aurora: Places widget configuration The Places widget displays a list of places in the community. You can configure it to focus on top-level boards only or to present sub-places within those communities as nested items. It is available on the Community Home and Category Dashboard templates. Layout The Layout options available are List and Card. The List layout creates a vertical list of places, enabling members to identify and navigate to parts of your community quickly. Line items can include avatar images as well as descriptions, post totals, and more. The Card layout showcases each place in its card, including an expansion feature that opens an additional panel with any sub-places under each item. Configuration List Style The List Style options available for the List layout include: Space: Uses whitespace to create space between items. Divide: Adds a horizontal line to divide items. Border: Creates a border that separates items into individual boxes. Card size The Card Size setting changes the overall size of the avatar and text so that it takes up more horizontal space on the card. You can choose from among Small, Medium, and Large content sizes. Card text alignment The Card text alignment setting aligns text within each card. You can select from left, center, or right alignment. The place's image is always centered. Widget Title The Widget Title appears at the top of the widget. If the Visible only to screen readers toggle is active, the title remains hidden from most visitors; however, the title information is still relayed to visitors using screen readers. Scope The Scope field enables you to select the top-level place where the widget is scoped. You can scope to the community, a category, or a group, and child-level places of the place you choose are then shown on the widget. Place types to include This drop-down menu sets the filter for places that appear in the widget. You can choose to display All places or a specific type of place. Options include: All Blogs Only Boards Only Categories Only Forums Only Groups Only My Groups Only Knowledge Bases Only Idea boards only Event boards only Sort by This drop-down menu sets the criteria by which items in the widget are sorted. Available options include: Name Latest Activity Most Viewed Topics Count Posts Count Community Structure List item/card elements List item/card elements determine what information is included for each item in the widget. You can choose to show or hide each element. Options include: Avatar (Card) Description Expand Category Children (Card) Lock Icon (Closed, hidden, and read-only) (List) Most Recent activity timestamp Post Count Unread Post Count The Lead With drop-down menu in the List layout sets which element appears first in the widget for each item: Avatar, Icon, or None. Max lines of description text Use the Max lines of description text slider to set the number of lines of description text to display for each place in the widget. Number of places Use the Number of places slider to set the number of places that appear in the widget before the "Show More" link is displayed. The List layout includes a slider for the Number of category children. If the value of this slider is greater than 0, child places are displayed as nested objects under the parent. More options Additional options are available at the bottom of the Edit Widget panel: Hide if empty: Hides any tabs that don't have corresponding items. Include "Show More" link: Add a link to the bottom of the widget to enable visitors to display additional items once the Number of places has been reached. Aurora: Top Contributors widget configuration The Top Contributors widget displays a series of contributors with the highest ratings based on popularity metrics including Likes/Votes Received, Posts (Topics and Replies Created), Topics Created, and Solutions Authored. It is available on the Community Home Page, the Category Dashboard, the Group Dashboard, the Forum Dashboard, the Blog Dashboard, the Knowledge Base Dashboard, and the Ideas Dashboard. Layouts The Layouts section features the List, Grid, and Card layouts. The information that can be displayed for each contributor depends on the Layout and its unique set of available elements. List Grid Card Configuration Options The configuration options available depend on the layout selected. For example, the List layout style has a List Style setting, while the Grid layout includes an Avatar Size option. List Style The List Style is unique to the List layout and determines how items in the list are separated from each other. You can choose to have whitespace (Space) between items, a horizontal line (Divide), or a defined Border that separates items in the list into individual visual blocks. Avatar Size Unique to the Grid layout, the Avatar Size setting changes the size of the avatar images as they appear in the grid. You can choose between a Medium or Large avatar size. Widget Title The Title appears at the top of the widget. If the Visible Only to Screen Readers toggle is active, the title remains hidden from most visitors; however, the title information is still relayed to visitors using screen readers. Number of Items You can designate the number of contributors featured in the widget using the Number of Items slider (maximum 20). Sort You can sort contributors by several different categories using the Sort By drop-down menu. Available options include: Likes/Votes Received Posts (Topics and Replies Created) Topics Created Solutions Authored Sort By gives you the power to create a widget dedicated to the top solvers in your community and another for members with the most likes on their content. The Time Period defines the length of time popularity metrics are calculated. This enables you to create a widget featuring a single top contributor for the week/month/year, your top five of all time, or any variation in between. List Item/Card Elements The List and Card layouts include elements that can refine the information about each member that appears in the widget. These elements include: Avatar Rank Count Roles to exclude You can exclude specific roles from being displayed in the Top Contributors widget. This is helpful when your administrators or other staff create a large amount of content but you want to highlight only your other members’ contributions to the community. To exclude roles, select the field and then choose the roles you want to exclude. Members assigned to the roles you select are not displayed on the Top Contributors widget. More options Additional options for the widget appear in the More Options section of the Edit Widget panel: The Hide if Empty option hides the widget in the event that nothing meets the criteria to be displayed (for example, if no contributors have authored any accepted solutions and Solutions Authored is the Sort By criteria).
