New Lithosphere Message Customization

Have you tried using the 'Set advisory message' option in the Admin console: Discussion Styles -> Posts & Topics? You could set some ground rules or set expectation for the users here. The content you enter in this option is displayed to users as they compose new messages.

We have created a custom component and dropped it into the page layout for "Post page", "Edit page" and "Reply page":

The "custom.postDisclaimer" component contains our text with a styling hook:
