Clarification Questions - Overview

Clarification Questions helps community members increase the likelihood of getting more accurate answers by asking a small number of contextual follow-up questions after a question post is published. Questions are AI-generated in real time from the post content and optionally guided by examples that Community Managers configure for the board.

Key principles

  • Publish first, clarify after. The post is published immediately on submit. Clarification questions are asked post-publish to enrich the context.
  • All questions are optional(admin-defined). Authors can answer any, all, or none, and skip the entire step.
  • Visible to the whole community. Once submitted (and approved by moderation, where applicable), clarification answers are shown beneath the post as "Additional context from the author" and are visible to all community members,  not just the author or the moderators.
  • Stored separately from the post. The original post body is never modified. Q&A lives in its own card and is moderated independently.
  • Answer Assist aware. Approved clarification answers are passed to Answer Assist as enrichment context.
