About and Setup Order for CLM and Answer Assist
Admin Configuration Guide for Aurora AI Settings
About Community Language Model (CLM) and Answer Assist
- CLM helps your community’s existing content become searchable and usable for AI answers. It learns from the boards you select and updates as content changes.
- Answer Assist monitors new posts in selected boards, checks whether a post is a real question, searches CLM for relevant sources, and posts an AI answer with citations when confidence is high enough. If confidence is too low, it can suggest community experts instead.
How to use this guide
This guide helps you configure Community Language Model (CLM) and Answer Assist in your Aurora community so you can reliably test & experiment with the new AI capabilities. It is written for admins (including non-technical admins) and focuses on what you can configure in the Admin UI.
Recommended setup order
1) Enable AI and confirm model defaults
2) Enable CLM and select Reference Boards (content sources)
3) Run a build and confirm ingestion is complete
4) Enable Answer Assist and select Target Boards (where answers should appear)
5) Post test questions and verify answers, citations, and expert suggestions
| Tip for initial setup: You can start with ingesting only the Knowledge Bases & articles into the CLM, while enabling the Answer Assist in a private/hidden board. This will help you ensure the correctness of the answers generated by the Answer Assist, before expanding it to discussion forums. |
