Cross-Board Posting - Member Experience
Creating a post flow.
Once Cross-Board Posting is enabled, the “Create Post” button appears on the homepage, category pages, and group hub pages. Members can start writing without navigating to a specific board first.

Note: Destination board selection happens before the post editor loads. This is required because the editor template, custom fields, poll eligibility, tags, and autosave are all board-specific and require the destination board to be known first. |
5. Board picker behaviour
Understanding how the picker is organised helps members find the right board quickly.

“Search boards” field |
Type-ahead search. Filters the list in real time as the member types. Blue focus border highlights the active field. |

“CURRENT BOARD” section |
Shows the pre-selected board at the top of the picker with a blue dot indicator. When the CTA is clicked from within a specific board page, that board appears here. Member can change it. |

“ALL BOARDS” section |
Lists all accessible destination boards. Categories appear as expandable folder rows (grey folder icon + › chevron). Click a category row to expand it and see the boards inside. |

Board-type icons |
Forum = blue square, Blog = green, KB = teal/grid, Ideas = orange lightbulb, Events = red calendar. These help members understand what kind of content they are creating before selecting. |

“Show More” link |
The picker initially shows a subset of boards. Click “Show More” to load additional boards. Useful for communities with many boards. |

Always displayed at the bottom of the picker. Permission-restricted boards, private group boards for non-members, and read-only boards are excluded automatically. |

Switching boards after writing |
Members can change the destination board using the “Posting to:” dropdown after writing. Title and body are preserved. Board-specific fields (tags, custom fields, poll settings) reset for the new board. A toast notification informs the member. |
