Cross-Board Posting - Member Experience

Creating a post flow

Once Cross-Board Posting is enabled, the “Create Post” button appears on the homepage, category pages, and group hub pages. Members can start writing without navigating to a specific board first.

What to do

Notes

1

Click “Create Post” from the homepage, a category page, or a group hub page

Button is only visible when the member has post permission on at least one board

2

The board picker opens

Shows: a “Search boards” field, a “CURRENT BOARD” section (pre-selected board), and an “ALL BOARDS” section

3

Browse or search for a board

Categories show a folder icon with › expand arrow. Click a category row to expand and see its boards. Direct boards (Blog, KB, Ideas, Events, Forum) show coloured icons.

4

Select a destination board

The “Posting to:” pill at the top updates to show the selected board

5

The standard post editor opens

All board-specific settings apply: required fields, tags, polls, moderation workflow, AI moderation

6

Write the title and body

Full rich text editor with all community posting features (attachments, @mentions, formatting, tables, code blocks)

7

Click Publish

Redirected to the newly created post. Post goes through the destination board’s moderation workflow.

Note: Destination board selection happens before the post editor loads. This is required because the editor template, custom fields, poll eligibility, tags, and autosave are all board-specific and require the destination board to be known first.
