What is Khoros's Bug Process?

Version 3.0I have a case now with Khoros Support with a Bug Identified status. Our CSM is saying the fix is planned for Q1, but Support is saying they haven't identified the root cause and trying to identify may happen in Q1.
I'm curious what is the expectation when we say it is scheduled for Q1?
