Number of notifications isn't linked.

At top right of Community, when we're logged in, we see a block status indicators.

Username, pulldown, Avatar   space, Bell icon, # of unread Notifications, space, Envelope icon, # of unread Inbox Messages, Help.

All are linked, except for # of unread Notifications.  This is inconsitent with the # of unread Inbox Messages, which is linked.

I find myself wondering why a non-zero numberical indicator won't click through to something as it does just to the right and on most other sites with notifications.

Hi @wittier

My apologies for not replying to this sooner and thank you for flagging.

We have updated the indicator so that the number is part of the link.

Cheers,

Executive

Thank you @AndyK.  I'm surprised no one else has noticed this.

FYI.  When New Notifications = 0 it displays nothing (black).

When New Messages = 0 it displays "0"

I would expect them to behave in the same way.

I had posted a separate issue months ago about this "notifications area" scrolling off the screen, when we scroll down. This is not standard.  See other sites.... where status indicators are part of the unscrollable header of the page.  I'm sure I don't have the nomenclature right.  But the point of notifications is generally to let you know that there are things to go see...no matter where you are on the site.  Sites don't normally have the user have to reset a page or hunt for status indicators....they are jsut persisitently there.

Thanks.

Can you try a CTRL + F5 please, see if that fixes it for you.

Having the notifications remain persistent is something that is on our radar for future improvements
