Just a quick heads up about our next Cloud release: it is currently scheduled for upgrades on October 26th (with data preview instances getting the same upgrade on the 18th). This will be a zero downtime (HAZDU) release, so you shouldn't even notice anything until the upgrade is complete. A set of release notes will be published here prior to the upgrade. Let us know if you have any questions!
Agreed with Mark - it would be nice to have release notes sooner than 1-2 days before the release.
I didn't receive any proactive communication about the release until today (2 days before the release). And apparently our preview instance was already upgraded (per your note, the 18th), but I never received any notification about that.
@benfowlerGlad your site is updated. Ours is not yet due to a bug so we can't test to see if the update will make our experience better or not. Right now our registrations are way way down due to change in the 2018.7 update.
@MarkAtTruth re: the upgrades on Fridays. This was alway the cadence we did them at Jive and we have continued that trend at Lithium to try to not "rock the boat" with extra changes. The reason we had traditionally done them on Fridays was such that we could do the upgrades, and then fix any issues that arose during the weekend before business began again on Monday. That being said, I'll be discussing with the team on the optimal day for upgrades on the next cycle and we'll weigh the pros and cons of doing them Fridays vs. Mondays.
@benfowler The upgrades are all scheduled to start at 8am PDT, but due to queueing in our system that performs the upgrades, your specific instance might not actually have the upgrade performed for some hours.
