Help! TKB breadcrumbs w/in a group are driving me batty

Hello ya'll!

We are working to launch group hubs that include TKBs. Both group hubs and TKBs are new to us (whee!).

I am struggling like crazy with the breadcrumbs; maybe someone else ( @StanGromer? :-D) has already dealt with this?

Here's the deal:

  • "Closed" group hub, contains a forum & a TKB
  • When you click into the TKB from the group hub, the root of the breadcrumb changes from "Community" to "Community Knowledge Base".

I know it's possible to keep the breadcrumb "normal" because I found this lovely Anaplan group hub that has a TKB and a non-strange breadcrumb: https://community.anaplan.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/tkb-p/LearnersLoungetkb-board

Some complications that may play into this:

  • We use Top-Level Categories (so "Community" in the breadcrumb is actually a link to a top-level category, not the "real" community homepage)
  • We have a sneaky hidden category that all of our Group Hubs actually live in, so that they don't show up for people who aren't members (If only there was a "hide from lists & menus" option for Group Hubs (please kudo Claudius' idea))

I'd love any hints or horror stories around this. I do have a support case open too, but thought real-world experience could be helpful with this one.

I'm willing to bet you solved it yourself in that it's a bug with using the top-level category, otherwise, there's still a bug somewhere as none of this makes any sense of why it's randomly adding 'knowledge base' into the breadcrumb 😂

@CarolineS I believe the breadcrumb structure in this case is controlled by this setting:

Display > Layout > Use community structure for breadcrumb navigation for Q&A and TKB

Maybe try toggling that, and see if it gets you the result you expect?
