Our email templates include the following image: https://community.softwaregrp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/4953iABDE86FDFB311539
Where is this image located and how do I access/edit it? All the images from our image library are in https://community.softwaregrp.com/html/assets
Being fairly new to Lithium, what I find the most difficult is actually finding things in the system 🙂
Thanks in advance.
Agreed it can be frustrating.
Yoy our should be able to find them in Studio, so if you go to stage, then studio and in the Customise tab there is a drop Down where you should see asset library all images live in there.
If it’s not... then it could be in a forum post, I could be wrong by the URL of that image makes me think it’s a link to an image which has been added to a forum post and is just being linked to from there “I could be wrong though, try studio first, I’m sure you’ll find it here”
studio and in the Customise tab
I don't have a Customise tab in Studio. 😕
I've looked everywhere I can think of in Studio.
And it's not there and the URL doesn't match so I looked at our image library for images in posts and you're right. It must be in some post somewhere because the URL of post images matches this one: https://community.softwaregrp.com/t5/image/serverpage/........
Grrr. What was the previous amin thinking linking an important email template image from a post? Knowing the URL and that it's a post image, is there any way to find it? I really don't want to go through 52 email templates and change the URL to a new one in the asset library, but I may have to if I can't find it.
Thanks for your suggestions. They've narrowed it down at least.
Thats is the one, sorry I’m old and it’s late lol.
When I saw the URL i guesses it was in a post, TBH it’s not great they did it but I understand why, I have a hidden board which I use to host images in my community as it’s super easy and quick but I use it for advice stuff not core assets
Adding them to the above means you have to deploy them to production before you can use them which is a pita however you also have to deploy the email template for it to work so actually they just made more work for you...
If you download all the text files for your emails you could use something like notepad ++ to find replace but actually if it’s just one image to change you could do this in studio, sure it’s a pita but get a large coffee and some tunes and blast through them 🙂
not raised it as an idea yet but I do think lithium need some way to allow us to manage image assets from within production site, it’s like badges, I can creat a new badge in live buyback I must upload the image asset to stage then deploy it first... I’m use to it now but it’s a faff...
> I have a hidden board which I use to host images in my community as it’s super easy and quick
Ohhhh. I hadn't thought about that but that's an excellent idea. Yea, having to publish images through studio is a pita. Thanks for that.
I'll look through my structure to see if there is a hidden board that this could be coming from. If not, it looks like I'll have to edit all my templates. As you say, I'll probably have to re-publish them anyway. Bah-humbug. 😕
> I do think lithium need some way to allow us to manage image assets from within production site
Yup. I manage other platforms as well and image managementare a LOT easier on all the others. Hey..I REALLY appreciate your insight.
Depending on the volume of images posted on your community you might be lucky finding it through the moderation image console at https://community.softwaregrp.com/t5/media/imageconsolepage
This image either comes from a post or from a public album in your previous admin's profile. If you don't have the "My Photos" component included in your profile page layout you can access their album via
Just replace "12345" with their user id
Thanks. I already thought about that and didn't find the image in the previous admin's profile 😞 We have 385 pages of images with no guarantee of finding it so it would probably just be quicker for me to upload a new image to the assets library and do a quick find/replace on our 52 email templates. Thanks for the suggestion though. I wish there were a way to search images OR I wish when displaying an image it actually had the image name in the URL instead of the cryptic numbers. Ohwell...... I will overcome. 🙂
I found it! I got thinking, maybe it wasn't the last admin, but the admin before that so I looked at his albums and there it is. Now....my question is: Is there a way to update THAT picture? I don't see a way to edit that picture so it has the same URL so this whole exercise to find it may have been a waste of time as I have to upload a new one somewhere else anyway.
