Are subjects changed on replies when comment is branched?

When you branch a comment to it's own post and it has it's own replies and give the branched comment it's own title, do the replies get updated subjects as well to match the parent post? We have hidden/locked the field for subject line on replies and want to ensure t hat the replies to branched posts match the parent they move with.

We're talking about Khoros Communities not surveys. Hoping that works on branching but it certainly doesn't work when someone changes the subject of the post without branching. The subjects of the comments stay the same and aren't updated. The URL does seem to be updated which is good but it's weird that with the subjects on the replies in Atlas that topic notifications don't have the new subject

Hi @MarkAtTruth  ,

Any messages that are moved with the post intended to become a new topic would not automatically update the subject.Instead, if you manually update the subject of the post you have moved any reply directly to that message or the topic itself will contain the new subject. If someone replies directly to a message that has been moved as part of the replies (where the subject has not been manually updated to the new subject) it will retain the original subject line.

Thanks!

@TedV Thanks That's what I was experiencing. Unfortunately that leads to a poor experience and creates potentially an intensive task if something is off topic and gets branched to a new topic. If a post and it's replies are branched and the moderator updates the branched post but not the replies and then replies to the replies everyone who is notified sees the old subject and thinks that they're on the old thread and not the new one. This is where the "individual" comment subjects are a bit ridiculous and should update dynamically according to the root post. If a comment needs a separate subject it should be it's own thread.

For our community I've had the reply subjects hidden so that people don't change them but realize now if I branch something that I probably won't be able to edit and change the replies to the branched topics' comments.
