I've noticed an issue w/ avatar cropping on our community as well as on Atlas. Curious if this is a general issue.
The issue is that the avatar-cropper box doesn't match the preview avatar. See screenshot below of a very cute dog avatar being poorly cropped.
Do ya'll see this when you crop avatars on your communities?
(P.S. Apologies for all of my "Do you see this bug?" posts recently - I hope they aren't annoying. My goal is to put more weight behind some of the issues I find by providing evidence to the Khoros team that they are general issues not related to our theme or customizations, and also to make some of these issues more public/visible for ya'll!)
Solved! Go to Solution.
This issue has been identified as a bug in the community, version 21.2. We have reported it to the engineering team already and should be hearing about the progress as they get a chance to review it further.
Meanwhile, you may open a support case with us if you want it to be tracked for a particular community. 🙂
[PS: The doggo in the avatar is indeed a cutie-pie! 😍
And let me reassure you that it is never annoying to address or clarify the customers' concerns.]
Thank you for the quick response, @ManishaS! Good to know this issue is already in the queue.
Thanks, @CarolineS , for posting this! I was just about to create exactly the same question 🙂
Our users are also reporting this behavior, looking forward to the fix!
I signed in to open a case so I'm glad I saw this thread
Thanks for posting this @CarolineS
@ManishaS any timeline to get this fixed? We're on version 21.4 and no fix for that in there.
Don't want to bother Support if this is a known issue being worked on 😉
Just created my support case about it, too.
Have this on our Community as well. I will log a case so that we can be notified. Thanks @ManishaS.
Hi all. I hope you are staying safe!
The ticket that is with the engineering team has been triaged and assigned to the respective team for initial investigation. However, we don't have an ETA on the fix yet.
I have reached out to the team requesting an expected timeline on this ticket and will share an update as soon as I hear back from them.
So is there benefit in me opening a ticket, or is it a waste of time? Does Khoros prioritize problems by the influx of tickets? (This is reason #2949 I wish Khoros would be more transparent about bugs, so every one of us doesn't have to waste ouf time opening tickets. I've given up hope of Khoros ever doing this, but I'll continue to stress it every chance I can!).
@ManishaS I was just about to ask the same question as @StanGromer. Let us know if there's any value in us opening a ticket.
@StanGromer / @JasonHill This time I'd say no and save you the trouble, as Manisha has already referenced this thread on our internal engineering ticket and that will help bump this in priority. Generally, we do take into account the number of tickets filed against any particular defect and that certainly does influence the urgency and priority of that work.
We'll keep this thread updated with progress so you're all kept in the loop. Thanks for your patience!
Throwing my hat into this as another Me Too!
Just wanted to update you all that we have a fix for the avatar issue going through our QA process right now. Once it's tested and approved, we'll let you know when to expect the deployment.
The team is working to patch this into the 21.5 rollout. Once confirmed, we'll update the release notes accordingly.
I'll keep you posted!
The fix for the avatar preview has been tested and confirmed for 21.5. Our release notes have been updated to reflect this.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!
