Is there an easy way to temporarily disable posting to a forum for everyone?
We have forums that don't have roles defined at the forum level. Sometimes I have the need to disable new posting in a specific forum. Is there an easy "switch" to do that without using roles?

@kgroneman - You can just set the permissions for a particular forum in the admin section. Please refer to below SS:
Thanks
Duh. Why didn't I see that? My head is going in too many directions I guess. Thanks for the reminder.
Instead of tweaking permissions you can also use Admin -> Community Structure and then the "Edit Properties" next to the node you want to disable. Check the box "Make all posts read only" to switch that whole board read only and also disable new posts being created:
That terminology is misleading then. I understood it at face value: All existing posts would be read only (no replies). That doesn't address new posts. If, indeed, it stops new posts, better terminology would be: "Disable all posting" . Thanks for the info. Something else to try to remember. 🙂
That's a good point. @ClaudiusH maybe if it said "make forum read only" and have the help say that it makes all posts read only and blocks new posts would be more helpful?
The admin copy will be improved in the next community update. Additionally our documentation guru @JohnD added a tooltip to clarify the effect this setting has.
