Get non-authored Accepted Solutions metrics

We allow internal users to mark any posts with known solutions as "Accepted Solutions".

We need to distinguish between "Solutions Accepted" for the same user (user accepts own solution), and for other users (user accepts another user's post as a solution).  The reason is that we need to reward users differently depending on whether they authored or just accepted the solution.

In Community Analytics there's the distinction of Solutions Authored vs. Solutions Accepted.

But if the metrics "Solutions Accepted" also goes up (+1) when you accept your own solution (Solutions Authored), then rewarding users differently for confirming other's solutions is not possible, as there is not distinction between accepting your solutions or other's.

Here are the three reward scenarios:

1. You author a solution, which gets accepted by another user. (you get rewarded for this)

2. You mark the solution you authored as solution. (you get reward for this as a Solution Authored)

3. You mark a solution authored by another user as a solution. (you get rewarded for this differently)

Anyone knows of a workaround?

@Andre_Sostizzo For badges, it's more locked down to just your net accepted solutions (including your own posts that you marked as a solution).

For ranks, we use our older Admin Metrics, where there's a lot more to work with.  When testing, I used this formula with success to only reward for solutions I made on other's posts.

net_other_solved_accepted_solutions >= 1

We typically see "net_accepted_solutions" being used in the rank formulas but this would be a good workaround for excluding solutions on your own topics.

Here are the metrics descriptions for Solutions in Admin Metrics:

Net Accepted Solutions
net_accepted_solutions

The number of messages written and accepted by
anyone in the community, minus the number of solutions
that were revoked. This is the net change in the total
number of accepted solutions in a given time period or for
a given author/role.

Net Solved by the Question’s Author
net_self_solved_accepted_solutions

This metric shows the net change in the total number of
'self-solved' accepted solutions for a given time period or
author/role. A self-solved solution is one where the
question and the solution are posted by the same author.
We start with the number of messages written by a
question's author and accepted by anyone as a solution,
and subtract the number of solutions written by a
question's author that were revoked. Questions
answered by a moderator are not counted in this metric.

Net Solved by Others
net_other_solved_accepted_solutions

This metric shows the net change in the total number of
'other-solved' accepted solutions for a given time period
or author/role. An other-solved solution is one where the
question and solution have different authors. We start
with the number of solutions written by someone other
than a moderator or the question's author and accepted
by anyone, and subtract the number of solutions written
by anyone other than a question's author that was
revoked.

@LarryI , thank you for the feedback! It is good information. cc: @LauraYe

However, I think I might have made this confusing by selecting the gamification label for the post, not that it is not about gamification. It is, but not within Khoros gamification. We run an additional Gamification program outside Khoros Gamification features.

We currently rely on the data we can pull from User Reports and Analytics in order to drive our own internal gamification.

In any case, about the "Net Solved by Others", this is a measure that takes in consideration the full conversation.

We are actually looking for distinguishing at individual post level.

We need to distinguish between:

1. Response post marked as solution by same user who wrote the response post.

2. Response post marked as solution by other users than the response post author.

The reason for this need is that we allow internal users to mark any posts with known solutions as "Accepted Solutions" when they come across a known solution for the original inquiry, and there's no feedback from the original inquiry's author.

A new Idea was created for this.
