Group Hub - Limits on invites or total members?

Hey all - I've been looking but don't see any limitations on using Group Hubs - Is there any maximums we should be aware of?

  • Maximum amount of users who can be invited at once, or invited in total?
  • Maximum amount of users who can be in a group at once?
  • Anything that may break in trying to add hundreds of thousands of users in a Hub?

TLDR; We want to add 500,000+ users to a few Groups.

My initial reaction when I saw 500k is damn, that'd be amazing to see.

Stan, keep up the awesome work and pushing the boundaries of scale!

I don't know the answer but wanted to chime in so I could be informed if Khoros can provide comment.

Hi ,

I have an Azure Event Hub topic, for which I have two consumer groups which listen. One of the consumers is struggling to retrieve data from the topic, but the other does so successfully. In order to troubleshoot the connection issues of the struggling consumer, I would like to be able to see the outbound traffic for only the consumer group in question, excluding the traffic for the other consumer group(s).

In other words, I would like to group or filter the requests, messages and throughput metrics based on consumer group. Is this possible? If so, how? I cannot find a way to do so in the Azure Portal. I can filter the consumer group list displayed under the metrics, but that has no effect on the graphed metrics.

You are allotted 3000 invites to send out and you can send out as many as you want per day, but you will be required to enter a Captcha for each invite over 100 sent in a 24-hour period.

@StanGromer , did you hear anything further about this?

I'm curious about the limit for total member if one exists and looking at the email invitation feature I can see the ability to send 10,000 invites at once, but how many times a day can I do that? Lets say I wanted to send out 100k invites? Can I do in 10 batches?

Hah, I think it's all working now 6 months later finally. It's been an adventure in figuring it all out, as Khoros also had no idea on much of this we've learned, so I'll over share as I imagine others may find new issues as nobody is using this at scale it seems.

Initially, this was completely busted in Khoros, and if we sent more than ~1000 invites at a time, the users would display in the group admin as having been invited, but no actual invite was ever sent to them. Due to this, we ended up building our own backend script to batch 1000 invites at a time so it worked.

Once Khoros fixed that, we got to testing 10,000 invites at a time, which also didn't work most of the time - Your browser will time out or crash when trying to add 10,000 users/email addresses, so it's a bit hit and miss. The Khoros solution was to add a sentence to the invite guide in Atlas stating that this is expected behavior 😂  (If you just let your browser sit for 15 to 40 minutes, it will eventually load up in most cases).

TLDR; You technically can send out 10,000 invites per batch, as many times a day you want.
