Hi all!
I'm wondering if there is a setting that would allow users to, if navigating to a thread they have already read, jump to the newest posts in that thread?
Thanks!

Solved! Go to Solution.
I don't believe so Scotty (@HeyScottyJ)
Some suggestions....
Have you told your users about the unread discussions/posts pages - check out ..../t5/forums/unreadpostspage/tab/message (eg http://community.lithium.com/t5/forums/unreadpostspage/tab/message)
Do you know that if you click on the time/date on lists like All Topics page and the Unread Discussions page then you are automatically taken to the last post in the thread?
Jason
Thanks, @JasonHill! That unlinked page in our community is a cool one. Our users are also playing with settings to have threads show newest to oldest for sort order, since they keep up so much, so less scrolling 🙂
Appreciate the ideas!

My Settings > Preferences > Linear Layout > Jump to first unread post in a topic
This feature has been around forever, but is not configurable as a default in the Admin console. Only users can toggle it in their settings.
Does "Jump to first unread post in a topic" still work? I have set and unset it in my Preferences, and don't see any difference in how a topic loads.
There seems to be a defect with it. I was told by Support that it would be addressed in 17.4, but we have had 17.4 deployed to staging, and it still remains a problem. Our support ticket is still open.
Please feel free to open more in hopes of prioritizing a fix 🙂

We have this feature still working on the Lithium community, currently on 17.3. You can tell by the URL for threads from the board page ending with /jump-to/first-unread-message which maps upon accessing the link to an anchor link to the newest message something like /m-p/213494#M2005.
What portion of this isn't working for you guys?
@ClaudiusH You're bang on with the expression of expected behaviour. In our community's case, this all occurs, except the anchor linked to is non-existent.
Support is still investigating for us.

(and now I see that in this thread, I am also not jumping to latest post).

Indeed my testing was incomplete 😣 It's still working in unsolved topic with no pagination. As soon as a thread is solved or spans multiple pages of replies it will default to the first message 🤦♂️ So lining up in the queue of customers who like to see this fixed 🔜
