Managing Google Play Store Questions/Comments from LSW

Hello,

I'am wondering if anybody has already managed to connect LSW to users' comments and questions posted on the Google Play Store (for smartphone Apps). And that way if anobody is answering directly from within LSW to the Google Play Store customer support request. Or at least, does anybody have that need ? I have the same question for Apple AppStore users' comments & questions, but this is a "closed" market place and I'm not sure an App editor can answer users comments there...

Tks, FR.

Hi @RondeauPro

is there an API available from Google to retrieve this information? As far as I know, there is the Google Play Developer API available but it doesn't allow / offer yet getting that data. Did you have a specific API in mind?

Thanks,

Hello @PaoloT,

No I do not have any precise API in mind. The R&D folks here at Orange have managed to grab that data in a web console/service they have developped... I will check how they did it. I was wondering if you managed to do so woth LSW, because I am not using LSW despiste I'm using Lithium communities. And if LSW does that one day... well... that would be one more reason for me to try LSW, and maybe switch to it one day.

Best, FR.

Hey,

Ive done some of this... So as you say Apple is out but I managed to pull play store reviews into LSW, essentially and easily you can use an RSS feed of reviews plugged into LSW and you got them all, responding "we didn't do" as we just wanted to pull them in to review and find the ones that needed a reply then reply direct in play store.

There re are web apps "forget the name now" which you can plug all your App Store apps into and it will spit them all out as an RSS this could also be used for the apple reviews.

hope this helps.

Tks,

I will look into the RSS feed possibility. I think that's the way our R&D guys are doing it with their own backoffice console already.

I managed to find the name of the app, we used https://appfigures.com/ to consolidate reviews and push out as an RSS which we feed into LSW.

It should be possible to pull in an RSS feed of App store reviews directly. I've got it working in my RSS reader for one of our apps.

Looks somthing like this:

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/rss/customerreviews/id=<app id here>/sortBy=mostRecent/xml

You can get the app ID by doing copy link in the drop down below your apps icon in iTunes for example:

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/<your app name>/id<app id here>?mt=8

I've not tried replying to these I was just investigating how to get the data for listening purposes.

Edit: You'll probably need to change the gb bit to match the country you are interested in.

If anyone figures out how to do the same for Google Play without a third party I'd love to know Smiley Happy
