Member is not getting accepted solution email notifications

A community member in my community reached out a while back letting me in on the following:

Normally, even if we follow a (discussion forum) thread, I don't get an email notification about the solution on the post I'm following if it gets accepted as a solution. I think we should get this (notification).

The member mentioned that he was following the thread, which I assume subscribed to the thread (I have not switched users to his profile to see yet), so I'm wondering if any of you have experienced this issue amongst the members of your community?

I've sent out a quick Community Feedback post asking for my community's feedback on the question/issue.

@jhaze - There could be the following reason why it is not working. 

1.  Email is not verified yet

2.  Please confirm if he has turned off the email notification from user settings e.g

If the above two are fine, please raise a ticket to lithium support.
