Does anyone know if there is a way to block users from certain pages within your community? For example, would it be possible to create a role that allows the user to only view the knowledge base and not be able to view the forums?

Sure, you're just looking at it slightly the wrong way. Rather than blocking, you are granting access only to specific roles. You can grant access to entire categories or selected boards, so what you would like to achieve is not too difficult.

Oh, okay. Yeah, that makes sense. So for what we're trying to do, I would need to create a whole new role because essentially they wouldn't have the "basic" allowances that exist for any of our other roles. If we only grant access to certain boards for these users, all other boards would essentially, in their view, look like they don't even exist, right?
Yes, if a user didn't have the necessary role to "See discussion style boards", then they wouldn't appear to the user. You would just need to make sure this permission is set to deny for your default (lowest) role in addition to permissions for reading posts and creating posts.
Can I ask whether this is for an existing community? Obviously removing access to discussion boards for existing users in an established community would be something that would have to be communicated very clearly...
Jason
Got it!
Yes... Long story short, our community is private to our clients and we are toying around with the idea of allowing our clients to let their employees have limited access to the community. We're still working through pros and cons and what is possible if we don't want to allow them full access to all features.
Thanks for your help Jason!
