Hi.
Quick question.
Does anyone know if it is possible to set a preview for attachments. In our community when attachments are inside a post, one can only download them and not preview them.
Thanks!
Wendy
Solved! Go to Solution.
By default it is not available but we have done some customisation to show the preview by default if there is only an attachment in a document or blog. Here is an example from our community
https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-architecture-documents/ipv6-migration-pdf/ta-p/3121812
So essentially we added a small customisation, where we check if the content in the document/blog are empty but it has an attachment then we simulate the click action on the first attachment in the content.
Hope this helps
This can be easily achieve in the latest release version of community of Media to 5.1, Adding this new feature and some configurations enable from backend it is possible to set a preview for attachments.
@Parshant I raised a support ticket to see if we can see the attachments inline, but i guess it can only be showsn when the user clicks on the link right, or am i missing something.
And this was available before 5.1 so what is the new feature which we have to ask the lithium team to do in the backend?
This only works for PDF, Office, and Text files though, yes?
I don't think this will work for office and text files at this moment.
Really? That's what the tooltip for that feature setting says.
