Quick question. I don't see any way in the interface or the admin console to search for a user by email address. Is there a way? Thanks - KG
Solved! Go to Solution.
As long as you have the permission to view a user's email address, you can search by email address instead of username on the users tab of the community search.

Hi @kgroneman.
Use your community search option and select "users" from the dropdown Option. You can enter the Email Address there and find them as long as you're an admin in the Community.
If my post is helpful and answers your question, please give "Kudos" and "Accept it as a Solution."

Thanks. LOL! I'm used to administering Telligent and vBulletin where everything "admin" is in one place. I didn't think to look at the regular, public search box. Thanks alot. I'll have to get the user ID from that search and go to the admin console to act on the user. One thing about LIthium, it's always a game of hide and seek to find where stuff hides and the different tools needed to do it. 🙂
@JasonHill Do you know what are the minimum permissions are required to search by email address? I had thought it was "Manage roles, user bans, and abuse notifications in admin and user profiles", but that doesn't seem to be working.
Cheers!
It used to be that "View information that identifies another user" and "Manage roles, user bans, and abuse notifications in admin and user profiles" permissions must both be enabled in order to allow our staff to see community members email addresses.
But I'm not seeing that first permission now - looks like it might have been renamed or removed.
We might need to get some input from the Khoros team here...

@JasonHill - looks like one of the permissions under "User Management" may be misnamed now - "View user reports in Admin Metrics" has a non-matching description that kinda sounds like it should actually be "View information that identifies another user"
For my particular use case, we truly just need search by email address (it's an API integration to find out if a given email address is present in the community), so I don't need this permission (whatever it's called! 😆)
