Seeing "Moderation Required" bar when first viewing messages (goes away on refresh)

We just got our production environment running & a few users online.  I'm noticing this red bar appearing w/ the class "lia-list-row-requires-moderation".

Refreshing makes it go away.

How can I get rid of this?

Yeah the moderation bar is a bit of a mystery feature.

Question: Is this only displayed to Moderator/Admins or is it shown to everyone on the community?

Thanks for the quick response.

It appears only for me (admin) and not for other me (not admin).

Pretty sure this is governed by the "Mark posts as moderated" permission (which is on by default for admins). I imagine you could turn it off for admins and that would hide the read line (haven't tried this though!)

do all posts need to be moderated?

In this case moderation just means whether or not someone with “mark posts as moderated” permission has viewed the post.

Hi @keithkelly  - if you like you can disable the moderation bar for yourself by going to:

My settings > Preferences > Moderator;

There you can uncheck the "Show Moderator Flag column" option and save the changes.

Other than that - you may want to have a look at this article for more details on the moderator flag:

Oh good news.  I hid it with CSS for now, but now that I understand the functionality and intent, I'll reconsider.  Thanks for the insight!
