Video reporting?

Hello!

I've been poking around to see what reports are available for videos - ideally, I'd like to be able to know which videos each user has started / completed. 

I can't find anything related to videos in LSI (Booooo), but I do find some in the Admin Metrics. Nothing at a per-user-level, as far as I can tell. 

Does anyone have suggestions for me? Do we have any access to the Brightcove reporting (since Lithium videos are hosted by Brightcove)? Or perhaps some clever API / bulk data work?

Also, the "Scope" field on the Admin Metrics reports doesn't seem to effect the results of the video-related reports 😞 Or maybe (HOPEFULLY?) I'm just doing something wrong?

I asked support about video reporting, and here's the (somewhat expected, but still disappointing) response:

Thank you for contacting Lithium Support. Sadly, we do not have user-level metrics for videos. The videos on the Lithium platform are hosted by Ooyala. Ooyala only hosts the videos which users save in their profile gallery. Any 3rd party videos such as the ones you display using a hyperlink in an iframe etc. do not get hosted on our platforms.

We generate metrics based on network requests. Any youtube or 3rd party video sends the network request to where it is hosted. Such requests do not reach Lithium and hence we cannot trach them and generate metrics on them. The only metrics we have for videos are for the videos hosted by Lithium and these metrics are not user level at our end. I will discuss this internally with the team and let you know if there is any way to get user level metrics for videos or not.

For what it is worth - We ended up going with Vimeo - While we don't have a method for users themselves to upload videos, we simply host them all there, they provide a quick iframe code to copy/paste into Lithium, and from there it is seamless with plenty of reporting including started videos / completed videos.

Just to follow up on

Rahul reports "That was an error from my side. It was supposed to be 'videos hosted by Ooyala', and not Lithium. I mistyped it."

As it has been a few years since your post I wonder if any gains on this have been achieved as I am also in need of some metrics around video usage.

as we just got the response from the Khoros support - no improvement here for years!

The support case is ironically pointed to this thread.
