Whether you’re a SXSW veteran or a newbie, there’s a lot going on near downtown Austin. It can be really overwhelming to navigate in a desperate search for your caffeine fix or hangry lunch craving. And if you’re looking for that great place you visited last year, it may not be around. Over 60 Austin restaurants closed last year, including the Patika’s Coffee Cart, Cantina Laredo, and Snack Bar on South Congress.

Best outdoor lounging: Easy Tiger(bake shop and beer garden)
Best quick escape from downtown madness: The Historic Scoot Inn on the east side is just a 5 minute cab drive away. We’re also co-hosting the Geek-a-Cue here on Saturday night, so it’s a great excuse to hear some music, relax outside, and grab some BBQ.
