We have 2 of our moderators leaving our Community. These moderators have many topics and posts that they authored.
Whena moderator leaves the community is there any way that we can transfer there posts to another community moderator?
Or what is the best practice when a moderator leaves the community? We would need to remove there moderator profile as they wont be active, but how can we assisgn their posts to another moderator with-in the community.

Thanks for the quick reply! Would you be able to tell me how can I ban the account, and How would I give it some type of retired rank?
It's greatly appreciated!!
What we have done is Created a role "retired" and put all permissions on deny. Then we create an entry in the rank, one of the top ones with the moderators logo and the description being retired. If you don't have a logo/image for the moderator, I suggest to use Retired Moderator as a description or something similar. I assume you'd have a logo though...
Here you go:
We also disable the Private messaging for the ex-mod by going into he user Preference under My Settings ( "Disable private messages")
We do this by using the "Switch User" function.
And like Brian pointed out so well. Banning them is a good motion 🙂 (although it does not look so friendly on their user profile page "this user is banned' but I think nobody actually really looks at a retired moderator user profile (pffieeeww :-))
I agree with @Wendy_S on the awkward look of having "this user is banned" on the profile page. It's probably easier to simply deny access at the role level (or SSO level) and eliminate the possiblity of a community member asking "hey why did you ban that helpful user?" and the associated speculations / community drama around it 🙂
