Hi! I want to revise our guidelines to specifically call out the discussions of procinig models of competitive products in our forums. Although we dont allow advertising, we do allow users to compare our products with competitors. Lately however, the discussions have become detailed comparisons of price between products, which we do not want to allow. Does anyone handle this currently and have some copy they'd suggest adding to our guidelines? We have this to work with:
And I though adding something like this:
Based on from BestBuy:
"Please do not discuss pricing issues. While we recognize that the issue of prices of products or services may come up, we do not want it to be the focus of discussion on the Community. We do not permit references to competitors' prices, fees, or contract terms."
I would appreciate your feedback/ideas.
Hi @lradden, even though I am 3 weeks late, maybe this can still be useful... I like this twist on the Best Buy guidelines, from the Best Buy Canada Plug In community, where the pricing guideline is specifically called out, the user is reminded of the mission of the community and given an alternative venue if they are having questions/issues around pricing:
This is not a forum for discussing prices. We recognize that the issue of prices of products or services may come up, but we do not want it to be the focus of the Forum. The Forum is to discuss our common love - great technology. For legal reasons we do not permit references to competitors’ or their prices. If you wish to refer to a Best Buy Canada price then please recognize that prices change over time. Please check BestBuy.ca or contact a Best Buy Canada store representative for the most up to date pricing.
