An integration that enables Lithium to work with industry standard technical communication tools (such as Madcap Flare) would be ideal. Either that or information on your recommended ways of doing that would be good.
I've yet to see any information about publishing content on Lithium from industry standard technical communication tools such as Madcap Flare.
Hi @marklee and welcome to the Lithium Community,
Enhancement ideas for Lithium products go to the "Product Ideas" ideation area. 💡
But before you submit it there I would recommend fleshing out your suggestion a bit more:
If you add more colour to your suggestion chances are you will gather more support in form of votes for your idea. 👍
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried clicking that link, but got an Access Denied message, so here's some more detail:
"What do you imagine an integration between Lithium (Community? Social Media Management?) and Madcap Flare would look like? What would be a typical workflow and would it be unidirectional or bidirectional between both tools?"
I would think the first use case would be unidirectional from Flare to Lithium Community. The point of Flare is that you can single source your technical documentation, publish to many different formats, but manage and update it in one place.
I would think that the integration should simply be an easy way to take an output produced using Madcap Flare's Clean XHTML target and publish it to a community in your organization with a minimal workflow.
"What's the audience for such an integration? "
The audience for the integration would be technical writers who want to publish their technical documentation on their organization's community, but keep control of it and single source their content in Madcap Flare.
"What's the value gain of such integration?"
The value gain is that writers can then control their content on their organization's community without too much time consuming administration and development work just to be able to use their existing documentation tools.
