jacques_ca - The support for SVG images was announced in the 16.8 Release Notes.
We now support uploading SVG files in Studio for:
- Rank icons
- Badge icons
- Avatar icons
- Value Analytics Survey images
- Skin images
- Assets in the Asset Library
Users are not specifically "permissioned" for the SVG image type, but for upload activities they can do in Studio, for example the permission to create and edit badges. And badges now support SVG via Studio upload.
Also, the Admin can set which image file types to allow for upload, under Features > Images:
