Ad Placement Explorer Widget and Filter in Khoros Social Marketing: Now Available!
What’s launching?
Khoros Social Marketing has enhanced our Ads Capabilities offering by providing more ways to view and explore data across all of your ad accounts. We have introduced both a new filter for Ad Placements as well as a new explorer widget for Ad Placement data viewable by Platform, Position and Device to help increase your visibility into ads performance:

- Should I optimize ads by increasing or limiting placements to amplify results?
- Ad Placement filter can help Social Marketers answer:
- How can I compare ad performance across different platforms, such as Instagram or Facebook?
- How can I compare which placements by network perform better, such as Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories?
When do I use this new widget and filter?
Placement breakdowns increase visibility across all ad accounts, helping Social Marketers reduce time viewing accounts individually in native platforms. This new widget and filter provide a holistic view of your ad accounts broken down across different placements (platform, position, and device). Am I getting better results on one platform versus another? Are my viewers seeing my ads more on mobile versus desktop? What does your spend look like across these placements? The ability to customize data across different dimensions will help inform future ad planning and strategies.
- Ad Placement Explorer allows you to see the granular ad performance across all placements to see how different creative used in a campaign performed. Customize your widget to view one or multiple placements (platform, position and device).
- Ad Placement Filter allows users to filter Ad widgets at the widget or dashboard level to view data for placements that matter most to you.

This sounds great! How do I get started?
Our new Ad Placement Explorer table widget can be found within your Marketing Dashboards within Social Marketing. For those users with existing saved dashboards, simply edit your dashboard and add in the new Ad Placement widget. Also, filter your existing dashboards by Ad Placement. Keep in mind that Ad filters in the dashboard apply to only Ad widgets.
We have also updated the Ad Performance template with our new widget offering. Users can create a new dashboard and select the Ad Performance template to customize and filter to accounts and campaigns.
Does everyone have access to the new Ads widgets within Analytics?
Users that have Ads Visibility access and Marketing Analytics access can add the new widget to your Marketing Dashboards to measure ad performance. Also, your company will need an ad account(s) authenticated to fetch metrics. For more information on how to authenticate ad accounts see here
What breakdowns can I expect and where?
Our placement breakdown includes the following options within our Ad Placement filter category, Ad Placement Explorer, and Net Ads data export:

** Please note that the following positions were added by Facebook on September 9, 2019 and will report data from that date forward.
*** Suggested Video was deprecated and replaced with Video Feeds position by Facebook on September 9, 2019. Any historical data associated with Suggested Videos will now report as Video Feeds.
Ad Placement data is available within our Net Ads data export. Simply select which option, or combination of options, you want to see your data broken down for across individual ads. Note that the breakdown options are disabled by default. Also note that not all breakdowns may be returned in your export if ads were not placed against those options.
What else should I know?
Khoros Social Marketing is able to report data and placement breakdowns on ads created after February 1, 2019, or from the date you authenticated the ad account into the platform. Please note that any ads you may have created prior to this date will not be available within Khoros analytics data in dashboards and exports.
