Interested in data retention, user auditing, or supplemental reporting for your care/moderation efforts? If so, we have 2 new exports you should be aware of (with the intention for these exports to eventually replace the existing exports you may be using today).

Old Exports

Historically, users have exported directly from a Stream or from the Stream Library in the Conversations Inbox. This provides many details for a stream item but it doesn't include valuable information like item SLA status, item statuses, responses to the item, parent IDs (to string together all items from the same post), and much more.

 At a high level

  • The data from these 2 exports combined provides 45 fields of data and each has a 5K maximum item limit.

New Exports

We now have two stream exports that provide all the data above and more. Here's a quick overview of each.

  • Stream Items Export: this export provides all items for selected streams along with their corresponding details, but does not include all actions taken on those items.
  • Stream Item Actions Export: this export provides all items for selected streams and all actions taken on those items along with responses.

 At a high level

  • The data from these 2 exports combined provides 54 fields of data and each has a 50K item/user/calendar day limit.

 Social Care Export API

If you're someone who exports on a regular cadence for data retention purposes, we highly encourage you to utilize our Care Export API. The major benefits of using the API include:

  • It's automated! No need to schedule or manually pull exports.
  • It significantly cuts down process. No more copy/paste of data into different fields -- configure it to flow into your data retention system and let the rest take care of itself.

How to access Exports or API

  • You can access the exports by going to Conversations %26gt; Analytics Tab %26gt; Data Exports Tab
  • You can access the Social Care API here.

 Summary of Benefits

  • When using the new exports, you no longer have to wait for the export to finish before moving on in the platform -- the new exports are queued to be emailed to you once they finish.
  • New exports allow for 50K max items whereas old exports have a 5K item max.
  • New exports provide valuable information that old exports do not -- some examples are item SLA, item status information, %26amp; the response information for that item.
