What is this?

The carousel format on Facebook gives you the ability to showcase up to 10 different photos each with their own link. You can tell a story, show off a new product line or feature a new service your company is offering. Not only do you have the ability to publish and view a carousel post that was created within the Social Marketing product, you can also view carousel posts that are auto-imported from Facebook. When viewing a Facebook Carousel, you will be able to scroll through each card to see all the different headlines, links or photos. Whether you re previewing a post you re actively working on or viewing an already published post on your calendar, your post preview will match what is shown on Facebook.

When would I use this?

Whenever you need to post new content to Facebook often times you find that a single image just isn't enough. Carousels give you a significant amount of content in a very small space, maximizing the opportunity you have to engage with your audience.

Carousels are also a very popular ad format. You can now create a carousel post, send the post through your existing approval workflow, and send the post to Facebook as a dark post for your ads team to utilize in their next social marketing campaign.

This sounds great! Where can I find it?

The carousel post type can be found by navigating to the Create Post section of Social Marketing. Select Facebook in Accounts and you will see the option for the Carousel post type.

Does everyone have access to the Carousel format type?

The format type is available for all customers with a Social Marketing subscription.

What else should I know?

Carousel posts as a filter option on the calendar and analytics will be available later this year.
