What is this?

Customers will now have the option to tag a location in their Instagram posts.

When would I use this?

This feature will be useful if you would like to tag location to your Instagram posts.

This sounds great! Where can I find it?

You can tag the location while creating an Instagram post. Under the message box, a new section is created where you can add the location.

Instagram Location Tagging

When you are creating the post, select the account as Instagram, and add an image or a video.

Under the message box, you will find a new section to add the location.

Note: the location tagging is only available for ‘Direct to Instagram’ posts with a single image or video

Click on the location icon and start typing the location.

All the relevant locations based on the keyword entered will be visible in the dropdown.

Once you select the appropriate location it will be tagged in your Instagram post.

After tagging the location, when you preview the post, the location information will be visible beneath the Instagram account name. You can either schedule or publish the post-as-is.

When the scheduled or published post is viewed in the side panel the location tag will be visible right beneath the Instagram account name.

After the post is published on Instagram its location tag will be visible as in any other Instagram post.

Restrictions

This feature is totally dependent on Facebook APIs. Any changes on the Facebook side will impact its functionality. That’s why we are calling it a Beta release where we will closely monitor the performance of these APIs and make necessary changes to provide you with optimum user experience.

Adding the location to Instagram posts is only available for a single image or video that will be published directly through the API. Due to API limitations, posts that you plan to publish through the mobile app will not have this feature enabled.
