Instagram Story Frames in Khoros Social Marketing (formerly Conversations): Now Available!
What is this?
Khoros is now auto-importing Instagram Story frames from your Instagram Business account into Calendar. The Khoros Marketing Analytics product now reports metrics at the frame level verses the previous aggregation to an account. Users are also able to view the creative used in their Stories alongside the metrics with each frame.
We have Story metrics today. What’s changed?
Khoros previously provided Instagram Story metrics at a credential (account) level without the story creative. Metrics were aggregated and reported at the account level, therefore lacking functionality for labeling and associating to Plans that users can apply to content today. With the ability to import in the content, users can now track story frames using labels and plans.
When would I use this?
When analyzing your account and post performance on your existing dashboards or data exports. You no longer have to go natively to collect and compile data from each of your Stories and their frames. You can use your dashboards and exports to report and view the performance for each of your Story frames to find what is reaching your audience across all your Instagram Business accounts. The ability to view your performance at the Story frame level helps you determine what content is worth repeating, and how far users are continuing to view through your Story, helping identify the right amount of frames to post to your Story.
You can view the creative and metrics for each frame created in your Story on your Instagram account along with your feed posts. Keep all your content in one place to compare your posts to your stories on your accounts. Or you can utilize filtering within dashboards and exports to view specific posts or stories on your account.
This sounds great! Where can I find it?

We’ve introduced a new Format filter of Story that will allow for easy filtering to report on your story frames and feed posts. The filter option is available for Instagram only and available at both the dashboard and widget level allowing you to customize widgets to report your full Instagram account performance in one dashboard.
In addition to the frame level reporting we’ve also updated our engagement metrics to include the replies you receive on your story frames. The Published Post metric will also reflect the number of frames created. And finally, the Impressions metric will now include the Story Impressions data from each frame as well.
Data exports will now include the story frames along with your feed posts. You can modify your existing saved Scheduled Exports to now include the new Story metrics, or create a new export for just your Story content. To update a scheduled export so simply access your saved export, select the new metrics to add to your next export, and save for future execution.
Does everyone have access to the Story frame metrics?
Yes! This data is now available in Marketing Dashboards and Data Exports for all users who have an authenticated Instagram Business account within the Marketing Solution.
What else should I know?
Story metrics have been available in the Marketing Solution since October 15, 2018 at a credential (account) level. Your existing Story widgets will transition to a deprecated state and will no longer report data as of May, 31, 2019. We will not remove these widgets from your dashboard to allow you to report historical data prior to the import of Story frames. However, we recommend that you add the new content versions of these widgets to your dashboard for more robust reporting capabilities. As of April 8, 2019 frame level reporting is available. We are unable to back fetch any Story frames and data prior to this date.
Lastly, metrics are fetched for your Stories during the 24-hour active period. Stories expire at 24 hours from creation and one last data fetch will happen at this time. We are unable to fetch any data on a Story after this time period.
