Khoros Care Release Notes, week of October 25, 2021

Khoros Care updates do not require any downtime. This release will be deployed with no expected impact to your operations until you configure the new features. If you do not yet see the new features, they will be pushed to your system later in the week.

New Features

Disable IP address logging for Modern Chat widgets

Depending on your company’s privacy policy, you might want to disable the collection and logging of IP addresses through proactive chat conversations. With this release, we’ve added the capability to enable or disable IP address metadata collection at the widget level. 

To configure IP address collection preferences:

  1. Go to Care Settings > Brand Messenger > Modern Chat.
  2. Click +New Widget or edit an existing widget by hovering over it and clicking the Global Widget Settings (gear wheel) icon.
  3. Scroll to the new Privacy section and use the IP Address Logging toggle to enable or disable IP address metadata collection for this widget.
  4. Click Save.

As shown in the screenshot above, disabling IP address logging does not prevent the IP address from being used to assess applicable proactive chat rules and conditions

Note: At this time, the option to enable or disable IP address logging for Modern Chat is only available at the widget level and cannot be configured at the rule level.

Embedded Mode display option for Modern Chat themes

A new embedded display mode is now available for Modern Chat themes. This display mode enables you to define a specific query selector that determines where the modern chat widget displays. The chat displays as a permanently expanded conversation, rather than a collapsed window with a clickable button or tab.

To configure the embedded display mode for a Modern Chat theme:

  1. Go to Care Settings > Brand Messenger > Themes.
  2. Click +New Theme or click on an existing theme in the list to edit it.
  3. Scroll to the Display Mode section and select Embedded Mode.
  4. In the Query Selector field, insert a valid CSS query selector to target and display the chat widget. This field is required.
  5. Click Save.

Engagement Manager Enhancements

Bulk Tagging for Post Column

In addition to the Conversation column, you can now perform bulk tagging in a Post column to easily manage multiple posts in a column.  With this enhancement, you can also add and remove custom tags for the posts in a Post Column. Custom tags must be created prior to the bulk tagging action. 

Note: 

  • You can perform bulk tagging on posts that are in the same column.
  • You can only select posts that are part of a conversation. Currently, you cannot filter or select posts that are not associated with any conversation. Therefore, you cannot perform bulk tagging for individual posts.
