TeroRe agree with you that starting 17.12, quoted replies triggering notifications (similar to @mentions) is a defect. Sorry for the confusion around this. This was an inadvertent consequence of the implementation changes that were made to make ‘quotes’ GDPR-compliant.
We are working on fixing this, at our earliest.
