Release Update: Due to a potential issue with the TinyMCE update for the message editor, we have temporarily stopped upgrades to 18.9 and are rolling back TinyMCE to the previous version. Thank you for your patience while we investigate this issue.

Updates to the message editor

With the 18.9 release, we have updated to the 4.7.13 version of the TinyMCE message editor, which includes a number of fixed issues, listed on the TinyMCE site.

You Found It. We Fixed It.

  • We have fixed the issue where clicking a label in the Labels component (labels.widget.labels-list) on a Q&A discussion page on a Responsive site simply refreshes the page instead of taking to to the RecentQuestionsPage, where discussions are filtered by the label you clicked.
  • Previously, when users who were not permissioned to use the @mention feature clicked the “Quote” button when replying to a post, the name of the user being quoted did not appear in the quote/reply. We have fixed the issue and now the username appears in the the quoted reply.
  • We have fixed the issue where Ratings and Reviews metrics in LSI were not being displayed. Data captured since September 12 is now being reported properly.
  • We have fixed the issue where “Search with results” metrics were not being displayed properly in LSI.
  • Previously, when a user created a new case via the Case Portal, the user was returned to the top-level Case Portal page, not the Case Details page for the newly created case. This is now fixed, and the user is taken to the Case Details page after creating a new case.

There should not be any end-user-noticeable, functional differences with the TinyMCE upgrade from version 4.4.3 to 4.7.13. It should be a seamless upgrade.

However, due to a potential issue we're investigating, we are holding off the upgrade for additional testing. For customers who are already on 18.9, we are planning a patch with this rollback.

Monitor this thread for updates on the patch availability and for the new date for the TinyMCE upgrade. If you have more questions or additional information to share, you can post them here.

In our testing we are not able to find this as a difference because in 18.7 we still see that username is displayed in Quoted reply so what additional changes we are getting in this fix

"Previously, when users who were not permissioned to use the @mention feature clicked the “Quote” button when replying to a post, the name of the user being quoted did not appear in the quote/reply. We have fixed the issue and now the username appears in the the quoted reply."

deeptsi2 the fixes would be for the 18.9 release and beyond. While we do sometimes back port fixes to previous releases, we typically reserve them for future releases to mitigate any potential risk and cut down on QA time. You won't see the changes from this release until your instance is upgrade to 18.9 or a later version, assuming you're currently running on 18.7.
