Our bloggers rely on the "HTML" tab, among other things, to embed videos, podcasts, slide decks, etc. I teach a class all about the various levels of HTML and how they are used. Removal of the ability to use HTML directly would not be an enhancement by any stretch of the imagination.
The "source code" button has only been a text formatting tool, which does not act on the blog article's source code. Our discussion board users utilize this very frequently, because almost all enterprise hardware solutions have embedded software. This tool should not be used as a replacement for a critical part of the editor.
