Now Available: Comparative Date Selector in Marketing Dashboards
What is this?
An additional date selector that allows you to view changes over time based on custom and pre-populated date ranges.
The selector can be adjusted by selecting a custom or pre-populated date range. Previous period is the default option. It shows the same number of days prior to the date selected, whereas all other pre-populated options are related to the current date. Learn more about filtering dashboards by date and other options here.
The increase or decrease between the selected time periods appears as a percent change in text widgets and most table widgets.
Percent changes appear in text and custom widgets by default and can be added in table widgets via display settings (see below).
Learn more about editing table widgets here.
When would I use this?
When you want to assess performance by comparing or benchmarking two time periods to one another. This could be similar periods such as one month compared to the next as shown above. It could also be longer time periods compared to shorter ones such as averages for a month compared to the previous year as shown below.
This sounds great! Where can I find it?
The comparative date selector is next to the date selector in all Marketing dashboards and can be used by anyone with access to the dashboard internally and externally.
What else do I need to know?
Marketing analytics data goes back as far as the date of authentication and is retained for a rolling 25 months. So there is no way to view or compare data older than 25 months or if the account wasn’t authenticated during the time selected.
