Now Available: Improved Promoted Post Analytics
What is this?
New features improving promoted post analytics, paid visibility and overall data quality. Due to API limitations, paid metrics are only available for promoted posts on Facebook and in a limited capacity for LinkedIn, TikTok and Twitter. This leads to differences from native analytics. However, there are now “Paid Metrics” toggles in dashboards and side panels that combine post and ad metrics to fill in these paid gaps.
How do I access it?
A “Paid Metrics” toggle is located in the post section of dashboard filters. When the toggle is on, individual and cross channel metrics missing paid data are combined with their ad counterpart. These combined metrics appear in all dashboard widgets including those with custom metrics.
The same toggle is available in calendar and dashboard side panels. It shows combined metrics in the results tab along with individual paid metrics and tooltips with definitions. When the toggle is off, the original results tab appears.
What else do I need to know?
This functionality is currently only supported in dashboards and side panels and for channels with ad capabilities missing paid data. This includes Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. The ad account associated with the promoted post must be authenticated into the platform for the toggle to function.
Metrics are combined in alignment with existing platform calculations and to reach as close to native parity as possible. For example, since paid is included for some LinkedIn and Advanced Twitter Metrics, only those missing paid are combined. Instagram Reels Plays aren’t combined because they aren’t natively. Also, metrics without an ad counterpart can’t be combined.
